Hockey World Cup in 90 Seconds – Day 9

Germany and the Netherlands have played against each other more than any other two nations in International Hockey and last night produced another cracking match. Malaysia came from behind to salvage a draw against Pakistan to give themselves a slim hope of staying in the competition.

Today seems the final games in Pool A being played and the first team to be eliminated. Wins to Spain and France would see New Zealand going home. A win to New Zealand and it could be either Spain or France going home, that will depend on France’s game against Argentina.

A loss for Argentina and a big win for New Zealand could also see New Zealand book a place in the quarter finals ahead of the Olympic Champions. There is certainly a lot to play for tonight.

The World Cup in 90 seconds for those fans who like sport in bitesize pieces!
