Podcast #83 – Shaun Norris discusses the Classification changes in Wheelchair Basketball, while under discussion are the Integrity of competitions during lockdown, and the wicket-taking of Jimmy Anderson.

The International Paralympic Committee has put a great deal of pressure on the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation to change its classification rules, but now the changes are in place those playing the game are far from happy. Many feel that the changes go against the Paralympic charter. We caught up with the captain of the Australian Rollers, Shaun Norris, a man who has won both World Cup and Paralympic gold to hear his views on the changes. Shaun makes some pertinent points and once again one wonders if those making such decisions spoke to the athletes before locking in a final decision.

During these difficult times various sports have worked hard to resume competition. Some purely for financial reasons, some so that local sport can simply return, for people’s physical and mental health. In our topics under discussion Ashley and John discuss whether the integrity of some long-standing competitions have been harmed by the decision to continue them at this time, especially under different rules and conditions. What are your thoughts on your sport’s competitions?
