Podcast #62 – Mobile Baseball, Cricket and the Cost of the Olympic score under the microscope.

It’s good to be back for the first podcast of 2019.

Our guest on this show is a man who will be familiar to those in Baseball in Australia having been involved in the game here. Owen Reid is now based in Singapore where he has set up a mobile baseball coaching service for players of all ages. As various countries look to develop baseball, they may not have the funds to employ full time development coaches, so Owen has been able to fill that gap.

In our topics under discussion, Ashley and John look at the recent Test series between Australia and India, and how India nullified a bowling attack that was supposed to be one of the best in the world, with great technique and a will to occupy the crease.  Drifting into the conversation are the new broadcast deals and the Australian batting line up. Will David Warner come back into the team? Will Bancroft and will Smith ever Captain Australia again?

Our second topic is the Olympic Games. Where are the Olympics headed? Can nations afford to host them? Are there now simply too many sports and too many medals that the medals have lost their lustre? Are the National Olympic Associations relevant today?

Thank you to all who took the time to give us feedback on the last show and those who continue to support us by listening.
