Watched the FA Cup final at the weekend – well done City! – and also watched the Matildas defeat New Zealand, although the victory was far from convincing.
One thing that seemed hard to believe was that in both games goalkeepers were chewing gum while they played. Joe Hart of Manchester City and Jenny Bindon for the Football Ferns. Now obviously this is a personal choice but it does seem rather irresponsible, when should you land awkwardly making a save, the chewing gum could end up causing you to choke.
This is certainly a trend we hope does not catch on, as it could be fatal if children start copying their heroes.
