First it was pajamas, then it was helmets, followed by numbers on shirts, the changes to cricket have come thick and fast in the last thirty years, but one that is sure to have many traditionalists exclaiming ‘enough is enough,’ is the use of pink balls.
The pink balls are believed to be easier to see and will help bring in a new era of day-night test matches.
Kent and Glamorgan recently played their final county Championship match and the England and Wales Cricket Board requested that they trial the pink balls and also change the hours of play, so that floodlights could be used for at least three and a half hours.
The ICC are said to support the move and waiting for the report on the match to find out if this is an option at Test Match level.
