Tonight on Not the Footy Show – 27 May 2009

Great to see the new athletics stadium opened and that sense prevailed on the naming (see Blog), now all we need is the rectangular stadium and Perth can claim to be a city that caters for all sports fans!

On the show tonight we will be featuring:

Liverpool FC great Alan Kennedy who will reminisce about his match winner on this day against Real Madrid, and how Bob Paisley used to buy chips off his mum!

Travis Roost coach of the Australian women’s lacrosse team will join us to let us know how preparations are going for the World Championships in Prague in just over two weeks time.

Andrea Gilmore from the West Coast Fever will be joining us to talk about their upcoming game against the Thunderbirds and will tell us how it feels to be picked for the national under 21 squad.

WAIS Water Polo coach Paul Oberman will be on the show to talk about the fantastic achievement of the Fremantle Mariners winning their fifth national title.

Mike Corren will be on to talk about Squash as there have been several key tournaments in WA in the past few weeks and another coming up this weekend.

Tim Thirsk is the man behind Freestyle Moto X ( FMX) and he is going to tell us all about this fantastic motorsport and how he became involved.

Last week we had problems getting hold of Boxing coach Geoff Peterson but this week he will be joining us to talk about Anthony Little’s award at the WAIS breakfast of Champions and also to talk about the upcoming “IPL” for boxing.

Tune in tonight to 990am from 6pm to listen to the show.
