Clarkston in Georgia was selected to be the new home town for refugees who had moved to the United States. The refugees were from different places in the world and had cultural and religious differences of their own, and then there were the differences between them and the local residents. It took a woman to try and break down those barriers of mistrust, and try keep the young people off the streets and give them something to take pride in, a football team. The book tells the story of the birth of The Fugees and their evolving into a close knit and talented team.
