There is no doubt that Sachin Tendulkar is the master batsman of his generation. This week as the test match against England commences at Lords he has the chance to be the first man to score 100 international centuries.
The stage is undoubtedly set, as he has never scored a test hundred at the home of Cricket. This will be his last tour to England and his last test at Lords. It would be a fairytale end to a wonderful career.
The clincher as to why he will probably achieve this is that the author of this piece will not be there, despite having been offered tickets to Thursday and Friday. Having watched the little master bat on six occasions, he has always been dismissed for under 40, so by sacrificing the chance to witness an historic innings live, I hope that I ensure history is made.
