Football’s Busby era ends
Legendary Manchester United manager Sir Matt Busby died aged 85. As a player he won one international cap for Scotland (1933) and an FA Cup Winner’s medal for Manchester City (1934). He was Manchester United manager (1945 – 1969), winning the European Cup in 1968 in a famous 4-1 defeat of Benfica; the FA Cup (1948, 1963) and the League title (1952, 1956-57, 1965, 1967). Busby was knighted in 1968.
