Bradman make his cricketing debut
Master batsman Don Bradman made his first-class debut in the Sheffield Shield match for New South Wales against South Australia in Adelaide. He ended the first day unbeaten on 65 and went on to score 118 batting at number 7. This day was a happy day for Bradman: in 1938 he scored 143 for South Australia against NSW in a Sheffield Shield game and in 1939 he scored 251 not out in the corresponding match.
