A fortnight ago we had a pop at the Perth Glory’s Ground announcer who we have since learned is employed by their broadcast partner 6PR. One plus this week was at least he had a bit of enthusiasm in his voice, but the rest was still well below par for a club that claims it likes to set the benchmark.
Once again he was hopeless when it came to players names, Mirvan Pavlovic for the Phoenix gained some letters becoming Pavlinovic.
But the best of all was when he announced that the last time the two teams met at NIB Stadium was in the finals series last year when the Phoenix won on penalties.
Announcers do not have to be fans of the sport they are working at but the least that can do is pay the sport the respect of getting the information right and doing a little homework.
