In what has been a depressing season for all Perth Glory fans of both the senior and the youth team, there have been few shining lights. One would have to be the dedication and determination of seventeen year old Sebit Oyet.
The Perth Glory Youth team’s training sessions started at 7am and so all players were required to be at the University of Western Australia’s MacGilvray Oval by 6.30am.
Sebit lives in Kwinana, and has no car. So he would rise at 4.30am and catch public transport for over an hour to be at training on time. Once training had finished he would reverse the process heading back to Kwinana.
In this modern era of spoiled athletes it is great to see someone so dedicated. He is a credit to himself and the club, and hopefully will build on his performances this year and become more consistent and confident next year.
