With the winter Olympics in Sochi are just six months away the release of the film “The Crash Reel” could not have been better timed.
The film tells the story of Kevin Pearce who when preparing for the 2010 Winter Olympics suffered a serious traumatic brain injury in a snowboarding crash. Doctors told Pearce that another slight blow to the head could kill him. Despite this news he was determined to complete his rehabilitation and try to resume competition.
The film picks up Pearce’s story from the crash onwards. It has been described as “harrowing,” “beautiful” and “Inspiring.” One thing is for sure it will show a side to extreme sports and one of the winter Olympics key events in a very different light.
Agree! What had happened to Kevin Pearce was really an inspiration. Awesome film, can’t wait to watch. : )
