One has to laugh at the humour one hears from the average sporting crowd. At the weekend much banter was directed at those running the game of football in Western Australia and their plans to stick rigidly to the ground criteria which will see one of the state’s most successful sides in recent years, the Western Knights drop out of the Premier League.
When a shower burst overhead, jokes were made about how if they had a bigger stand no one need get wet – one of the criteria required t stay in the league.
Some fans however had come prepared, by bringing umbrellas. One wag observed that the umbrella was now obstructing his view, and he would be petitioning Football West to have all umbrellas banned from games, as they were harming the spectator experience. Be careful what you wish for is all we can say!
