Congratulations to Australia’s Casey Stoner for winning his second MotoGP World Championship. It must have been quite a day, as not only did he win it on his 26th birthday but also in front of his home crowd at Phillip Island. IT was also his fifth straight win at Phillip Island.
During the build up to the race there were several who were speculating that Stoner would surpass the feats of fellow Australian Mick Doohan, who won five World Championships and is third on the all time list behind Valentino Rossi and Giacomo Agostini.
Stoner has age on his side, and has certainly show he has the ability, it may well just come down to how much hunger he continues to have for his chosen sport. Whatever the outcome he is a worthy champion.
