Now many a male has heard their female partner trot out the line, “But I don’t know what to wear,” but would you believe that line may well become a regular one in Boxing.
The World’s governing body for amateur boxers AIBA is not buying into the current debate that female boxers should wear skirts rather than shorts in the ring. A petition online signed by over 50,000 people was against such a proposal.
British Lightweight Champion Natasha Jonas was quoted as saying “The only people who want to see women in skirts are men,” and European flyweight champion Nicola Adams lent support to that argument by stating “you don’t see female footballers wearing skirts.”
Then again there was a certain gentleman involved in that game who proposed something very similar!
Female hockey and netballers wear skirts – though probably the most obscene dress rules are for female beach vollyball palyers.
