Boxing WA hosted the Commonwealth Games trials and also the Women’s World Championship Trials in Fremantle last week and they put on a fantastic show.
One of the great things about amateur boxing is the respect that both boxers show each other after the bout. They go hell for leather for the duration of the bout, and then respect their opponents at the end. It is a true pugilistic challenge.
What was a little hard to understand were two of the female boxers who went into the ring wearing makeup. There is looking good in the ring, but this we felt was taking that expression to the extreme.
Maybe she misunderstood when her coach said he was looking for a knockout.
