Usain Bolt the fastest man on the planet dropped into the Grosvenor House Hotel last week to help out a mate, British Olympic dual Gold Medallist Mo Farah.
Farah, had organised a gala Charity dinner at the prestigious hotel and a pair of the Jamaican runners spikes were being auctioned. Bolt’s spikes were in the silent auction and bidding had halted at GBP16,000. the organisers moved them to the main auction hoping to squeeze more money out of those attending the dinner. No one moved to increase the bid. That was until the man himself stood up and walked onto the stage, he said that he would perform his trademark pose if bidding reached GBP35,000. It did. It closed at GBP36,000 and Usian Bolt assumed the position, much to the audience’s delight, and he also signed the shoes for the generous bidder.
