We are fortunate to have some local sport taking place again, but that in itself has raised issues.
In this show our special guest is a young basket-baller with an interesting tale to tell. Sunday Dech came to Australia with is family as a refugee and without speaking any English. He came to Basketball late but since finding a sport he loved he has taken advantage of everything that has come his way, but more importantly has been ready for those opportunities. He shares with us his journey so far as the next part of his journey is yet to be clear. However he still has goals to achieve, and only a brave man would bet against him achieving those goals.
In our topics under discussion Ashley asks whether post Covid-19 we are going to see a shift back to the past where the emphasis in sport will go back to the club competitions. With travel restrictions likely to be in place for a while is this an opportunity for some sports to push their local competitions back into the forefront of people’s minds?
John Lee looks at whether the professional sports were right to try and resume competition? Would they have been better off to simply close this season down? Then the pair look at the motivations behind such a decision and the spin being used to sell it to the public and the average sports fan.
