Happy to be back with another podcast of Not The Footy Show. Only one guest this week, but for anyone who enjoys the Olympics a great insight into how the London bid was put together and how much work went into the bid and over what length of time. David Luckes former England and GB Hockey goalkeepers was involved from the start and shares some of his memories. This leads us into the possibility of social media destroying the sanctity of the Olympic village.
We also discuss Hockey India’s decision to increase the value of a field goal at the Hockey India League in 2016. We also touch on how World Rugby looks to tackle illegal betting on their World Cup, and also the impact England hosting the World Cup will have on a waning Rugby League audience in the UK. Which leads us into the migration of their athletes to other codes, such as Jarred Hayne in the NFL. We cannot sign off before talking a little football and in particular the Matildas withdrawal from their trip to the USA and the welcome news that the A-League will have some full time referees in 2016.
