On this show John and Ashley look at the criticism levelled at Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou following Australia having to go through the play-offs to make Russia 2018 rather than direct qualification. Should more blame rest with the players? Or even with the FFA in terms of their talent identification programs and development?
Then inevitably we turn our attention to the debacle that is the Australian Rugby Union. Will the Senate enquiry reveal more that will actually be good for Rugby Union?
Our interview is with with Wheelchair Basketball Shaun Norris. Shaun has been a part of the all conquering Australian Rollers and Perth Wheelcats, so the team’s performance in Rio bowing out in the quarter finals. A new coach, and new blood in the team and the Rollers were back to winning ways in Japan. We catch up with Shaun and hear how he almost contemplated retirement but has recaptured his enthusiasm.
