Congratulations to Ryan and Cameron Edwards who have come through trials with English Championship side Reading and have both been offered deals.
Cameron who is undoubtedly one of the most elegant young players with great vision as stated before Hoddle-like distribution has apparently been given an 18 month deal. This is the perfect opportunity with full time training for him to develop the physical side of his game which has at times let him down. If he develops that side of the game and learns how to dictate play throughout a game he could climb to great heights. Playing in a full time environment will no doubt benefit him and hopefully Australian football long term.
Seventeen year old Ryan who spent the last year at the Australian Institute of Sport is believed to have been offered a three year deal, dependent on his release from the AIS. Ryan played for the Perth Glory youth in 2009/10 before moving to the AIS, and last season had trials with Adelaide United. He is a very different player to Cameron with explosive pace, and an ability to excite.
Both boys the sons of ex Socceroo Alistair are bound to progress their careers quicker with a full time professional environment in Europe than they would have here, and we wish the both all the best
