Lord Coe has been working tirelessly over the past eight years, first of all to win the Olympic games for London, and secondly to deliver a Games of which Great Britain can be proud.
So dedicated is he to the task in hand that he has declined an invitation to this week’s Laureus Awards, Sport’s equivalent to the Oscars which are being hosted in London for the first time.
Mind you he has no doubt been there done that, and with very few British athletes up for a gong he may well be better served making sure all the final touches are in place for the games which start in six months.
