The hardest thing they say is keeping it, a kite that is. Well the good news for kiteboarders around the globe is if they keep it up for the next four years they could well book themselves a place in Rio de Janeiro at the 2016 Olympic Games.
The International Sailing Federation announced at the end of last week that they will include men’s and women’s Kiteboarding in the games, at the expense of windsurfing.
Obviously windsurfing enthusiasts were gutted at the news, but the fact that Kiteboarding is believed to now have more than 1.5 million competitive and hobby participants and still growing, with over 100,000 new learners every year, it was a decision that was described as “a fantastic addition” to the games.
