Last night on the television there was an advertisement promoting the Anzac day clash in the sport we do not mention. The advertisement featured diggers with their medals on their Anzac day parade; the music was the last post. It started off as an emotive message that reminded you of the futility of war and the sacrifices made, and then we had promotion of a sporting context.
The two cannot be compared and should never be so. It was irreverent and disrespectful, even ungrateful for the sacrifices made by others in tougher times.
Or are we overreacting?
In Poor Taste?
100% agree with you and Eamon. It was awful. AFL are lowering the importance of Anzac day. This is not a commercial opportunity
Saw the ad and was appalled. Should never have been allowed. More people shoudl complain.
No you are not over reacting, not that anything will be mentioned about it, because after all it is the national sport and is above reproach
