It is semi-final time at the Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup and three European sides and Australia fight it out for a place in the final.
The Netherlands and Australia played the final four years ago, and everyone thought it would be the final in 2018, but a loss to Germany in their Pool match has seen the Dutch end up facing the Kookaburras in the semi final. Can Australia win again and keep the dream of three consecutive titles alive? Or can the Dutch rise to the occasion and knock-out the defending Champions?
In the other semi-Final England meet a Belgian side in the semi final for the first time. England has been here before at the last two World Cups but has never managed to win through to the Final. Under Women’s Olympic gold medal winning coach Danny Kerry England appear to have found form at the right time in the tournament after a stuttering start. Can they go one better this time? Or will Belgium be able to keep the dream of a first major title alive?
