The last of the Pool Games were played last night at the Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup which saw Germany top Pool D and Malaysia head home. Although Malaysia made the Germans work hard for their victory and exposed some defensive frailties.
Today is the start of the knock-out phase with the first of the crossover games. First up England face New Zealand in what is bound to be an extremely tight match. This will be followed by France v China, a game that France now find themselves favourites to win, but rest assured it will not be easy.
