Last night India and Belgium battled it out for direct entry into the quarter finals of the Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup and it all came down to goals scored. Both recorded 5-1 victories but India topped the Pool. Sadly for South Africa they head home. One really does wonder what their team could achieve if they had proper funding and spent more time together.
Today Pool D will play their last games, and the Netherlands will be hoping Malaysia can finish with a victory over Germany and they can beat Pakistan, which will not be easy. If the Germans win they will top the Pool and meet Belgium or whoever finishes third today in the quarter finals.
