Congratulations to Tanya Oxtoby who has captained the Perth Glory W-League side on her appointment as the manager/coach of Nottingham Forest Ladies Football Club in the UK.
This will be Oxtoby’s first major coaching appointment having been assistant coach of the Football West National Training Centre in 2007.
She has also was held the position of Western Australia Women’s U-15 Coach. In 2008 with the formation of the W-League Oxtoby was made captain of the Perth Glory side and in 2011 won the Most Glorious Women’s Player award.
It is a great credit to Oxtoby to land such a role and will hopefully be an inspiration to other up and coming Indigenous athletes, that not only are there now opportunities to excel in Australia but also overseas. We wish her all the very best on her new journey and are sure she will be a great ambassador for Australian Women’s football.
