Congratulations to ECU Joondalup’s under 12’s who took out the Volkswagon Master tournament in Sydney at the weekend, and have now booked themselves a place in Poland in 2012.
The team of youngsters under coach Ross Kelly overcame Adelaide city in the final 4-2 on penalties. Playing halves of 15 minutes the team went behind in the final, but managed to pull a goal back to force extra time. With neither side able to break the deadlock it went to penalties and the ECU goalkeeper was the first to save an Adelaide penalty, and the side never looked back after that.
In seven games they only conceded three goals in normal time and were hailed worthy winners. Congratulations to all the boys and the coaching staff on a superb success. There are not many teams who head over East and come home with a trophy.
