Congratulations to Inglewood’s Jack Clisby on taking out the McInerney Ford Gold Medal as the Fairest and best player in the Western Australian All Flags State Premier League football competition.
Clisby had an outstanding season in the centre of defence for Inglewood United and showed he has matured considerably as a player coming through the Perth Glory Youth League ranks. Solid in defence and with a great touch Clisby was often the player to launch a counter attack for his side either by carrying the ball forward out of defence or by playing a sublime pin point pass forward.
He is the first recipient from Inglewood United since Louis Parkinson won the coveted award back in 2003.
What is also encouraging for other players breaking through into the State Premier League is that Clisby at 20 years of age is the youngest player to win the coveted award and the car on offer from McInerney Ford since Perth’s Aaron Cole in 1999.
A thoroughly deserving recipient, and may all enjoy his play for many years to come.
