The news that Schalk Brits has been allowed to join the Stormers on loan for the Super Rugby Finals is a concern for many rugby fans.
Brits is a former fan favourite and one-eyed Stormers fans will be delighted that Saracens have allowed him to return on loan for the remainder of the season in lieu of injuries to loose forwards Pieter Louw, Duane Vermeulen and Siya Kolisi.
Although the circumstances are slightly out of the ordinary as Kolisi, who recently returned from the Junior World Championships in Italy, was the victim of a mugging near his home in Cape Town on Friday night and has been ruled out with various injuries.
One does however feel that teams should be required to rely on the squads they had at the start of the season when it comes to the finals rather than brining in new players. To play in the finals as a player outside of your normal squad you should be required to have played a certain number of games that season for the club, at whatever level, or it opens up the possibility of teams stacking a side come finals time.
