The London 2012 Olympic Games have gone to great pains to promote themselves as the most ethical games yet, not really surprising as the British pride themselves on their sense of FairPlay.
However they have just become in embroiled in a very unfortunate issue. Team GB’s Stella McCartney designed, Adidas-Branded kit is being made in “sweat shops” in Indonesia which breach the Human Rights of the workers, according to The Independent newspaper.
There is an inquiry taking place and depending on the outcome it could result in shoes, T-shirts and swimming suits being replaced. This could be a very costly exercise, but not as costly as the reputation of the British ethics should they fail to act accordingly.
