A month ago we ran a story about an Italian athlete being caught using a false penis to avoid being found positive from a drugs test (What a Dick) it now appears that Mike Tyson used a substitute penis himself to avoid testing positive.
In his autobiography to be released this week, the former world heavyweight champion claims he fooled UK drugs testers by using what he calls his “Whizzer.” A fake penis filled with someone else’s clean urine.
This shows how big a struggle the anti doping agencies face to try and keep sport drugs free. Female athletes have admitted to inserting ‘clean’ catheters before testing so that they can avoid being caught.
Tyson claims he used his fake penis following his victory over fellow American Lou Savarese in 38 seconds at Hampden Park in Scotland 13 years ago.
This revelation may not have been smart on Tyson’s part as the promoter of that fight, and a big name in boxing the UK, Frank Warren has been embarrassed by such revelations and has stated that he intends to sue Tyson, as if true he was “in serious breach” of his contract.
The book is due for release on Thursday this week and it is believed Warren’s lawyers will be scrutinising it carefully for any defamatory passages made against the promoter.
When asked about the claim of the fake penis, Warren has been quoted as saying he was not sure if it was true, but that it “could be one of those things which sells books. Tyson is cunning and manipulative and when he came here to fight Savarese he was strutting around like a dog with two dicks.” He said.
Which would tend to imply the story may well be true.
Just proves Tyson is twice the prick I thought he was! Maybe he should have used that as his defence several years ago.
