Whose Got a Ticket to Ride?

News of a knockout cup competition for Football has stirred up the debate once again as to who the rightful champions in Australia are. The suggestion has been made that whoever wins this new knockout cup competition be given a place in the Asia Champions League. Does this mean that Australia will receive an extra berth or does it mean that one of the current slots will be changed?

Let us not forget that the AFC wanted the winners of the League and only agreed to two slots following an impasse over the FFA wanting to send the Grand Final winners as opposed to the League winners.

It is believed that Australia will in fact get three positions, which seems a bit over the top with an 11 or twelve team league, but Singapore are rumoured to be pulling out, leaving a spare place for Australia.
