What’s Good For the Goose…

The English FA thought that they would try and cash in on the success of the London Olympics just over a week ago, but unfortunately for them it backfired.

The FA decided to invite 17 of Britain’s medal winners to the match against the Ukraine at Wembley and had organised interviews with the media as they looked to cash in on the feel-good-feeling of the Olympics.

The media interviews had to be cancelled when the athletes no doubt comparing their meagre earnings to the footballers wearing the England colours demanded financial reward for an interview. Although the three boxers in attendance did not ask for money Gold medallist Anthony Joshua however did refuse to be interviewed as he was sick of being asked when he will turn professional.

The FA tried to explain that the players do not get paid paid for their post match interviews but the athletes still would not budge. To be honest who can blame them…
