Well Done Girls – But Guus Wouldn’t Like it.

Well done to the Perth Glory women’s team for improving on last season’s efforts with their victory over Melbourne Victory in their final W League fixture.

Well done also to Sam Kerr for not only keeping the goal of the season award here in Perth – Marianna Tabain having won the inaugural award – but for also winning the Player’s player of the year award. Here is a talented young lady who is excelling in her sport in her own right, but wait and see how many media outlets have to link her success to her sibling.

So amongst all the success what would Guus Hiddink disapprove of? Well Guus hated the thongs (Flip Flops) that the Socceroos wore and in fact banned them. Although the Perth Glory women had uniform purple thongs we are not sure whether this is the look that reflects the team in the best light. A little too casual for us.

However well done all concerned and lets us hope next year a finals berth is a possibility, as the Women’s football program at Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) gathers momentum.
