Tonight on Not the Footy Show – 28 October 2009

Imagine being bedridden for six months and then your first sporting event is a national championships, and you are entered in six events. One of our guests tonight not only found that to be the case, but won five out of the six races and came second in the sixth.

We will also celebrate another national championship when we catch up with Australia’s Pole Dancing Champion.

As the Wallabies head to the UK and Ireland on their Grand Slam tour we catch up with former England Centre and World Cup Winner Will Greenwood.


Golf
The Handa Cup is a unique Golf tournament hosted at Nedlands Gold Club this weekend and we will catch up with former winner and Australian legend Jan Stephenson.

Paralympic athletics
Madison de Rozario competed in the Australian Paralympic Youth Games in Melbourne a week ago and entered six events after 6 months on her back in hospital, she returned with 5 gold medals but is far from happy, tonight she explains why.

Speedway motorcycle
We will be talking motorcycle speedway with Russell Mitchell who recently placed fourth in the world sidecar championships

Rottnest Channel Swim
Entries for the 20th anniversary of the WAToday Rottnest Channel Swim in 2010 open next week and we will talk to President Ceri Writer about why next year’s event will be a little special.

Pole dancing
WA has a new Champion in Allegra who was crowned Australia’s Pole dancing champion and will represent Australia at the World Championships next year. She joins us tonight to talk about this rapidly growing sport.

Rugby Union
Former England Rugby great Will Greenwood will join us tonight to talk about the changes in the game since he won a World Cup medal in 2003 and his part in England winning the hosting rights for the 2015 World Cup.

A-league Football
We will also talk football with Perth Glory’s …. and hear how they plan to bounce back against the Melbourne Victory after two disappointing defeats on the road. We will also preview this weekend’s Flexible Signage solutions Grand Final between Perth and the Western Knights.
