Tonight we have a very special show as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Western Australian Institute of Sport. This establishment, that is now such an integral part of the sporting landscape here in Western Australia, was the dream of a few dedicated men, and a government possessing vision.
The state owes a great deal to these visionaries, as does Australian sport as a whole. Tonight we look back on the past 25 years talking to many who have helped establish WAIS as one of the top sports institutes.
Those featured include: Dr Bruce Elliott, Steve Lawrence, Liz Chekovitch, Darryl Benson, Rechelle Hawkes, Priya Cooper, Richard Nizielski, Sally Robbins and Ryan Bailey.
Shane Tonkin from the Barbagallo Perth Heat will be joining us to preview their pre-season series and assess the Heat’s chances of winning three Claxton Shields in succession.
We will also catch up with Mr Australia. Craig Sparreboom was crowned Mr Australia a week ago at the Australian Natural Body Building Championships in Sydney, and he will share with us the secret of his success.
