The Hungry Games – Kylie Wheeler

As the Olympic Games in Rio draw to a close so too does our series on Perth Olympians, where we met up with athletes ate cafes bars and restaurants around Perth.

The final athlete in our series comes from track and field and attended two Olympic Games, in Athens in ’04 and Beijing in ’08. We catch up with Heptathlete Kylie Wheeler at Paddy Maguire’s bar on Barker Road in Subiaco.

Kylie had the gruelling task of competing in seven events in two days but as you will hear loved every minute. She worked for Athletics WA, but is now concentrating on raising her three children.

We hope you enjoyed the series and thank all of the athletes and the venues for their time in allowing us to film at their cafes, restaurants and bars.We also hope the series shows that all around us are Olympians and yet very few of us would be aware of their feats.

Other interviews are available on You Tube under Not the Footy Show or “The Hungry Games.”
