The Gangster Who Hopes to Become a Cowboy

Who has heard of Efe Obada? He is 6ft 6Ins tall and weighs 117kgs and now he has become a Cowboy.

His is a remarkable story. He was trafficked by a friend of his mother’s from Amsterdam and abandoned on the streets of London in 2003 when he was aged just 10.

Not surprisingly he flirted with gang culture as he strove to survive. He saw three friends murdered.

Yet all has come good and a few weeks ago he quit his job as a warehouse store man in Welwyn Garden City and has joined the Dallas Cowboys where they hope he will fulfil the potential they saw in him to play defensive end, after just five games of Gridiron.

He faces another stiff challenge, but he is obviously used to beating the odds. The mini camp which will decide his future will commence at the end of this month and is bound to be a far cry from sleeping rough on the streets of London.

Let us hope it all works out for Obada.
