Podcast #26 – A Double Dose of Football and So Much More

Once again on this Podcast we have another two great guests, both from the world of football.

First up we have Goran Stajic who has been coach of the WA Paralympic football team for the past three years. Over that period from never winning a game, the team won their first ever game, and this year went all the way to the final of the National Championships, where unfortunately the team lost to a very strong New South Wales team. Goran, is very clear that on and off the pitch it was very much a team effort with some very dedicated players and support staff all pulling together to achieve this rapid improvement. It is a great success story for WA Football. Goran is now coaching one of the Perth Glory junior NPL sides.

Our second guest is Miguel Maron, who is the man behind the Mini Football World Cup, where the top four teams in the six-aside competition in Western Australia get to compete at the national finals, and then if they win that will have an all expenses paid trip to Tunisia to represent Australia. (www.ausminifootball.com) The tournament now looks as if it will be spread over two days the 26th and 27th of November. Miguel is also the man behind Area 5 Football, which is about to open yet another centre, and as a result has a few new exciting developments in the pipeline.

Apart from the guests, John and Ashley share their views on the first test v South Africa, and whether Shane Warne should be giving a coaching role with the T20 side, the FFA financial report, the Hockey Australia awards and a few other hot topics in sport in the past week.

Hope you enjoy the show.
