Podcast #2 – Sports betting, Tokyo Olympic Games, Women’s Football World Cup and Hockey.

In this episode we open our show with a rant on betting in sport. As devotees to the church of sport it’s something we both feel really strongly against and it saddens us to see sporting organisations be seduced by short term financial benefits of supporting sports gambling.

With the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020 baseball, softball, squash and karate to name a few have put forward bids to play at the Games. What sports do you think should be included?

The Women’s Football World Cup in Canada is well and truly underway and we’re pleased that Lisa De Vanna has been appointed as co-captain of the Matildas. She has long been misunderstood as a person and a player, so has her footballing energy and talents been successfully channeled into leadership on the field?

As I am currently covering the Hockey World League in both Argentina and Antwerp, I thought we would speak to Kookaburra, Simon Orchard and Hockeyroo, Anna Flannagan. Find out why I reckon John needs to stand at goal and face some of Anna’s famously fast drag flicks and what Simon has to say about India’s recent performance against Australia.

Thanks for tuning in again and we hope you enjoyed the programme.
