Perth Fans to Suffer Again

Just when Perth Glory fans felt their season was coming together, as the team looks to string together some results that not only should assure them of a finals berth, but possibly a home final news has surfaced that the club will not be able to host a home final at ME Bank Stadium.

Apparently the FFA had to put down a deposit for the use of ME Bank Stadium prior to Christmas, and with Perth Glory hovering around sixth they decided not to put down the non-refundable deposit.

Now George Michael has the stadium on the night prior to the afternoon Perth Glory would host their finals opposition (21 Feb). The lemon of a stadium, Subiaco Oval is also not available on that night as Fremantle play Melbourne in the sport we don’t mention.

The question has to be asked how can this possibly happen? How can The FFA not have covered all eventualities? How can Perth Glory’s management team not have noticed this either and brought pressure to bear on the FFA?

The club has been saying that finals football is a must, and home finals are obviously a far bigger attraction than an away final, yet somehow the players and the fans have been let down monumentally if they achieve third (unlikely) or fourth position in the ladder.

That’s ridiculous!!!! first I’ve heard of it. We probably won’t get a home final but doesn’t give you confidence for the sport in wa.
