There is a trend appearing in some of the state league competitions where we are seeing coaches stand behind the fence with the spectators to watch the game. From there they are barking instructions or abusing the officials.
Obviously as they are not in the technical area there is nothing that the referee can do, however it should be incumbent on the clubs that their stewards, or their committee ensure that the coach behaves in an appropriate manner.
This needs attention quickly before it becomes the norm. It needs to be policed and stamped out, as it is not acceptable for the referee and his officials or the paying public.
