Congratulations to everyone involved with Ice Hockey WA in all the hard work that they have put in to ensure that Western Australia has a team in the Australian Ice Hockey League in 2012.
There is no doubt that the Perth Thunder’s defeat of national champions Adelaide Adrenaline earlier in the year will have helped their cause.
With two years until they join the league Western Australia has time to pull together a squad that can hit the ice and be competitive and it would be a wise man to bet against them. The good news is a few of the players who left WA seeking top level Ice Hockey in Australia may well be tempted home. For those up and coming players it means they no longer have to head east.
