It is easy to knock sports administrators as they are frequently on a hiding to nothing, but sometimes they bring it upon themselves.

The National Youth League is evolving into a very good competition, showcasing not only the young talent coming through the ranks of Australian football, but also the up and coming coaches.

One of the unique features of the National Youth League is the fact that Coaches have to empty their bench to ensure that all players have at least thirty minutes on the park. A move that we applaud in terms of developing players.

The one thing that we find hard to understand is why this rule was changed for the Grand Final. You have played the competition under these conditions throughout the season, so why when it comes to finals would you move the goalposts?
