Following his recent century against the West Indies, it has come to light the VVS Laxman is in some august company when it comes to scoring mountains of runs at one ground.
Laxman’s performances at Eden Gardens in India now sees him rank third among the list of batsman with the highest batting average at a particular test venue.
Sir Donald Bradman tops the list with an average of 128.53 at England’s Yorkshire test match arena, Headingley. HIs compatriot Greg Chappell averaged 111.77 at the Gabba in Brisbane.
Laxman, has scored 1217 runs in ten matches at Eden Gardens, and has scored five centuries for an average of 110.63. No doubt he would love all India’s test matches to be played at this venue.
